Kabonge nominated for coach of the year

Kabonge guided Onduparaka FC to top flight football.

Former Onduparaka FC coach Allan Kabonge (pictured) has been nominated for the coach of the year award ahead of the Airtel FUFA Awards that will be held this Friday at Speke Resort Munyonyo.

Under his spell at Onduparaka, Kabonge guided the West Nile side to premier league promotion as well as helped them reach the final of Uganda Cup, finishing as runners-up after losing 3-1 to Vipers SC.

Kabonge also saw Onduparaka finish as runners-up of FUFA Big League finals after a 2-0 defeat to Kirinya Jinja SS.

Now coaching FUFA Big League side Masavu, Kabonge will vie for the award with KCCA FC's Mike Mutebi and George Nsimbe of Vipers.

Coach Mutebi  guided KCCA FC to the 2015/2016 Azam Uganda Premier League title while Nsimbe  helped Vipers win the Uganda Cup and finish as league runners-up.
