Soroti to host UNATU delegates conference

The national chairperson of the union plus the vice are among the several positions to be voted for during the conference

Soroti district has been selected to host this year's Uganda National Teachers Union (UNATU) national delegates' conference. 

The UNATU national delegates Conference always takes place every five years and it has been slated to take place this year in Soroti town between 12th and 14th of December according to officials. 

John Okot the UNATU chairperson Katakwi district confirmed that there will be elections of UNATU's national leadership during the conference. 

Okot said the national chairperson of the union plus the vice are among the several positions to be voted for during the conference. 

According to Okot, teachers there are trying to front the regional UNATU chairperson for Teso, Mary Jacinta Ikima Okiror, to contest as the national secretary for women affairs.
