The other mayors on the Council include: Regina Bakitte (Nansana), Stephen Wante (Bugembe), Joyce Sebugwawo (Rubaga) and Benson Okumu (Pakwach).

Also on the team are: Godfrey Kayemba (Masaka), Mary Mugasa (Hoima), Sentaro Byamugisha (Kabale), Noah Ewaru (Moroto) and Titus Mwesige, the agency's (AMICAALL) country director as executive secretary.

Aogon advised them to work hard and advance healthcare and curb the HIV/AIDS scourge and encouraged them to work together as a team.

The country advisor of the agency, Dr. John Mugisa, appealed to the new team to be people of integrity and avoid corruption.

Alfred Aruo, the outgoing chairman, urged the new executive to champion the cause of healthcare in the country, particularly in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Meanwhile, Aogon warned district leaders against demanding for allowances in order to attend meetings. His stance was that whether there is allowance or not, the leaders should put priority on advancing healthcare in the country.

"Let's desist from asking for allowances and facilitation. Let's first work, if it's there that is good but if it is not there you should consider healthcare for all as a priority."

The general assembly was held under the theme: "Strengthening leadership and governance for improved and sustainable health and HIV/AIDS outcomes in urban areas".

It was attended by mayors and urban council leaders from across the country.
