The trio will appear in court again on December 6th
Key suspects in Lugogo shooting Matthew Kanyamunyu and his girlfriend Cynthia Munywangari have been charged with murder.
Kanyamunyu's brother, Joseph was jointly charged. The trio was remanded to Luzira Prison until December 6, 2016 by Grade One Magistrate, Noah Ssajjabi.
Moses Iboza who was arrested last Friday together with Joseph was Tuesday released on a police bond.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Emillian Kayima had earlier announced that suspects in connection to death Kenneth Watmon Akena, will be arraigned before Nakawa Chief Magistrates Court.
In a message a text message to Journalists, Kayima noted that, "Tonight the suspects in the Akena murder case will appear in Nakawa court. Get there and do your work without causing commotion and innuendoes".
Matthew Kanyamunyu, the chief executive officer of Quantum Express Logistics, has since last Saturday been held on suspicion that he shot Akena, aged 32 years. However, Kanyamunyu claims he only helped Akena to take him to hospital as a Good Samaritan.
Akena, a community development officer with a local non-governmental organisation, was shot in the stomach and he died on Sunday at Norvik Hospital located on Bombo Road in Kampala.
He was laid to rest last Wednesday at Gang Diang in Kitgum Municipality. During burial also attended by the Inspector General of Police, Gen. Kale Kayihura, Akena's relatives and friends asked the police chief to ensure that justice is served.
Police on Monday took the search for the killer gun in the murder of Akena, to a top city night club, Guvnor, in Kampala.
New Vision learnt that detectives visited Guvnor and asked management for the register where they record any weapon that a reveler would be carrying during a visit to the club.
This was after it emerged that the suspects linked to the murder are regular patrons at the club based in Industrial Area.
