Gen. Katumba urges on blood donation

Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala led the donation which attracted children, students, corporates and Rotarians.

Over 100 people received free medical treatment and checkup at a medical camp in Mukono.

According to Dr Joy Ampulire of Uganda Blood Transfusion Service, the camp was intended to offer free HIV/AIDS counselling and testing, dental and eye care, blood donation and screening of the internal organs of the body.

It was held at Federation of Uganda Employers headquarters over the weekend.

This was during the making Ugandan Youths Independent (MUYI) exhibition which was organized by skills for excellence in collaboration with Federation of Ugandan Employers and the Rotaract Club of Kinawataka.

Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala led the donation which attracted children, students, corporates and Rotarians.

Wamala urged the general public to embrace blood donation to save lives.

"I started donating blood while still at school in the 1970s to date," Katumba said.
