Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta will on Saturday be in Kampala for the annual diplomatic black tie dinner ball.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Uhuru will be joined by President Yoweri Museveni at the event, which is organized by the Diplomatic Corps of Uganda, under the theme: "Handshake diplomacy: to cooperate rather than to compete".

"The annual dinner is usually for the members of the Diplomatic Corps, the business community and the wider society to thank those who have supported them during the year," said Margaret Kafeero, the head of public diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta, President of the Republic of Kenya, will deliver the feature address as the chief guest. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is also expected to be in attendance," she added.

Kafeero added that in the spirit of philanthropy, the net proceeds from the dinner, will be donated to the Uganda Cancer Institute at Mulago Hospital.
