Mbarara District chairman Capt JB Tumusiime Bamuturaki, declined to make any comments on the deal

Mbarara district executive committee resolved to lease out Kakyeka Stadium, the recreational ground in Western Uganda.

This comes after continued disagreements over the ownership and maintenance of the facility between Mbarara Municipal council and Mbarara district, which has seen continued deterioration of the facility.

According to an insider from a closed door District executive committee meeting held at Mbarara district headquarters Kamukuzi, the resolution was passed that the facility be given out to an interested bidder at a cost of 4 billion.

However, cause for worry for so many sports lovers in the region is, that the' investor' would end up taking over the land of the facility for other projects.

"We shall not allow any kind of takeover unless we have read all agreements and written documents in relation to this. We shall only allow a sports lover to take over and only on the maintenance deal, short of that, expect fire in Mbarara," Said a football lover in Mbarara who requested not to have his name mentioned.

When contacted, Mbarara District chairman Capt JB Tumusiime Bamuturaki, declined to make any comments, saying he was busy.
