New entrants Uganda Martyrs are targeting a play-off slot in their first season of the FUFA Women Elite League.  

The Lubaga side announced their arrival in the third edition of the league with a 3-2 victory against last season runners up She Corporates.  

"We came prepared for the league. We had to strengthen our side with new players. Our target is to reach the play-offs this season, "coach Dan Katongole stated.  

Lilian Mutunzo netted a double before Resty Nanziri added the other for Uganda Martyrs.

In the Elizabeth Group, defending champions Kawempe Muslim are still top of the table with 3 points. But Buikwe She Red Stars will take on UCU Lady Cardinals on Thursday in the same group.
