Onyango heads FUFA Awards shortlist

The awards are slated to take place on December 2nd at Speke Resort Munyonyo

The best male and female footballers of 2016 will each walk away with a car and land titles among other prizes during Airtel-FUFA Awards.

The awards that were launched on Monday at Serena Hotel are slated to take place on December 2nd at Speke Resort Munyonyo.

CAF Champions League winner Dennis Onyango will vie for male player of the year award alongside Farouk Miya, Joseph Ochaya, Muhammed Shaban and Erisa Ssekisambu.

Sandra Nabweteeme, Ruth Aturo, Christine Nambirige and Hasfa Nassuna are nominees for the female player of the year.

Miya and Nabweteeme walked away with their respective accolades at last year's awards.

"The awards are here to reward talent and the excelling sports personalities. There is a great committee and we expect fair awards" stated FUFA president Moses Magogo.

FUFA Fair Play Award (Given to team with least bookings in all FUFA sanctioned competitions)

FUFA Beach Soccer Player of the Year

FUFA Coach of the Year

FUFA Referee of the Year

FUFA Upcoming Talent (Awarded to a player from the FUFA Junior's league and Airtel rising stars)

Fans' Favourite Player of the Year (strictly Ugandan player)

Fans' Favourite Player in Other Leagues
