Thank you so much President Museveni - Kiggundu

Outgoing Electoral Commission (EC) chairperson Dr. Badru Kiggundu has hailed President Yoweri Museveni for giving him an opportunity to serve the country in that capacity.

"I wish to thank President Museveni for nominating me and my colleagues to serve from 2002-2009 and 2009-2016. We feel privileged humbled and highly honoured to have had the opportunity to serve Uganda for the past 14 years," told reporters in Kampala at his last presser as EC boss.

Kiggundu also thanked Parliament which comprises of people who hold diverse political views for approving their nominations to serve the two terms.

He applauded key stakeholders in the electoral process and everyone who has been part of the journey.

During the 14-year tenure, Kiggundu led team organized, conducted and supervised three general elections of 2006, 2011, 2016.

According to Kiggundu, EC has been consistent in developing its administrative technology capacity equipment and technology to deliver electoral services.
