The state minister for tourism, Godfrey Kiwanda, advised the National Resistance Movement league in United Kingdom to be tourist ambassadors for Uganda.

During his trip to UK, Kiwanda asked members of National Resistance Movement in UK to ‘sell' Uganda's cultural heritage to Europeans.

"We have several local dishes in Uganda and they are not known to rest of the World. You should organize food feasts where varieties of dishes are prepared to attract tourists," Kiwanda said.

Kiwanda added that special messages on Ugandan culture can be showcased through music, dance and drama through intercultural competitions.

"We have over 50 tribes in the country and each has varieties of norms and practices. Therefore we should make our culture known to everyone." Kiwanda added.

Patrick Asiimwe the NRM chairperson in the diaspora assured the minister that the members were fully behind him in promoting tourism.

"We have a partnership with our counterparts from China, South Africa, Turkey and India aimed at paying visits to the pearl of Africa. Through our online radio ‘NRM FM' in UK we are determined to make Uganda known to everyone," Asiimwe said.
