Failure to account for the money has demoralized Christians from giving support to the church

Religious leaders from all denominations in Teso have been challenged to give accountability for the offertories made by Christians in church.

The call was made by Rev. Beseri Otekat the coordinator Church of Uganda founded schools in Soroti Diocese.

According to Otekat, failure by church leaders to account for the money they collect from church to support any church projects has demoralized Christians from giving support to the church.

He asserts that giving accountability on how the money Christians contribute motivates them to give more.

He therefore implored religious leaders to give accountability for whatever money they get from Christians to avoid doubts.

Some of the Christians who spoke to Etop Radio said the statement comes at a time church leaders have taken Christians' reluctance to demand for the accountability of the money they contribute to divert church funds for their personal gains.
