Mawa appointed as new coach of Somalia

Mawa has been unveiled as as the head coach of the national football team of Somalia by Football Federation together.

Without giving details, Somalian website www.mogadishucenter.com said that Mawa was appointed after another Ugandan coach Matia Lule disagreed with the Somalia Football Federation.

"The appointment of Mawa came after disagreements erupted between the Somalia Football Federation and another Ugandan coach Mathias Lule who was initially handed the job," the website said.

Formerly of Sports Club Victoria University football club, Mawa takes up the position as the fourth Ugandan, replacing the third -Livingstone Mbabazi.

Mbabazi took over from George Ssimwogerere. In 2012, Somalia hired another Ugandan coach Sam Ssimbwa to handle their team at the CECAFA team between November and December at Namboole stadium.

Mawa has gone to Somalia with his fellow countryman Moses Oloya. Oloya has been the goalkeepers trainer at Azam Premier League side Onduparaka FC.

Lule was initially tipped for the job but he opted to coach Express FC where he was unveiled over the weekend.
