Judge praises President Museveni

A Court of Appeal judge, Catherine Bamugemereire, has praised President Yoweri Museveni for spearheading transform of the African continent.

In an opening prayer at the closing of the East African Magistrates and Judges Association at Speke Resort Munyonyo, Bamugemereire said Museveni is not only an agent of transformation in Uganda but in the entire Africa.

"Lord, we thank you for giving us a President who is not only an agent of transformation in Uganda but in Africa," Bamugemereire stated.

She thanked the President for finding time to attend the event which brought together judges and magistrates from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda and South Sudan.

Chief Justice Bert Katureebe asked the President to fulfil his promise to support the transformation of the judiciary, including digitising the court processes.

It was attended by the Chief Justices of Kenya and Tanzania, David Maraga and Othman Chande respectively, the vice President of the East African Magestrates' and Judges Association, Luke Kimaru and the secretary general of Common Wealth Magistrates and Judges Association, Dr. Karen Brewer as well as the president of the East African Court of Justice, Laboir Nkurunziza.
