While addressing the weekly FUFA press conference, both Sredejovic said that he was hopeful Onyango will be fit.
"I am in touch with every Ugandan player across the world and I'm sure Onyango will be available for the World Cup qualifier," Sredejovic said.
Onyango picked up an injury as he helped his South African club Mammelodi Sundowns win the Africa Champions League final against Zamalek and substituted two weeks ago.
A good performance for the lanky goalkeeper will strengthen his claim for African player of the year and African player of the year based in Africa awards for which he has been nominated by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
He featured prominently as Sundowns reached the lucrative CAF Champions League finals where they beat Egypt's Zamalek 3-0.
Sweden born Ugandan Ronald Mukiibi of Ostersunds FK, Gor Mahia FC's Shafiq Batambuze and the return of goalkeeper Robert Odongkara, who is at St. George FC, Ethiopia are a surprise call.
Sredejovic said that the squad that started training with home based players against KCCA FC select side at Lugogo yesterday will be used to tour Central Uganda against the Buganda regional tour on Saturday as well as the forthcoming CECAFA Challenge Cup in Kenya later this month.
The Cranes will play Zambia in a friendly match on Tuesday next Week before the World Cup qualifier against Congo Brazaville on Saturday.
