The ultimate 2016 wedding dress guide

Nov 02, 2016

White has not been written off by designers as the number one wedding hue, but they have added more spice to the colour choice of a bride.

Are you that bride that is looking for something fresh, unique and in-line with the 2016 wedding dress trends? If that is you, then the ultimate 2016 wedding gown is just what you need to pull it off.

Sheer fabric

Tracing it back to the global world of wedding dresses, designers have been cutting back on the use of hard fabric, embracing the lighter-sheer fabric. It has been lace, chiffon, the fine silks- like royal silk and others- cutting down on the volume of the dresses. They appear and feel light and angelic.  This sheer element was also seen at 2016 Kampala Fashion Week (KFW) runway, Designer Morine from Morine designers sent out the sheer wedding dresses-in lace, the embroidered lace, floral lace, and chiffon.

Unusual silhouettes

Designers have told us that the 2016-2017 wedding dress trend is about choosing the unusual silhouettes; like the exaggerated bows, the plunging V-necks, embroidered florals and the wide leg jumpsuit. Morine gave us much of the unusual silhouettes in her 2016- KFW collection.

Layering

Do not be afraid of trying the layering trend on your big day. Designers have told us this 2016 that layering is chic, and stylish. So if you are the kind of bride who does not want a lot of attention around your burst area when you wear the plunging V- neck or uncomfortable with the jumpsuit; layer it over with a sheer cropped top, dress, tunic or shawl. Morine showed us how this technique can be achieved at KFW.

Dash of colour

White has not been written off by designers as the number one wedding hue, but they have added more spice to the colour choice of a bride. They have introduced the florals, both the white embroidered florals and the bold printed types. They have also introduced the nude hues, sequins and metallics. The choice is all yours dear bride to be-choose to be trendy- choose to be who you want to look like on your big day.
