MTV to Kenzo: accept that you lost

Nov 01, 2016

MTV responded to him: “The votes were compiled from a number of different sources, including www.mtvbase.com, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram."

When Uganda's musician Eddy Kenzo failed to win the Best Live Act award in the recent concluded MTV African Music Awards 2016 to Cassper Nyovest (South Africa), he claimed that he was cheated arguing that he was the most voted.

"I was the most voted in my category. Remember when you click on #Bestliveact you can see the results Stonboy was 2nd, flavour 3rd, Cassper 4th,"claimed Kenzo.

According to www.africanentertainment.com, MTV responded to him: "The votes were compiled from a number of different sources, including www.mtvbase.com, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram."

Africa Director of Communications for Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Alison Reid said, basing the result on the voting hash tag alone gives an inaccurate picture of who won.

Reid noted that collecting the votes from all sources confirmed that Cassper Nyovest is the rightful winner.
