Oct 25, 2016

The Kasanga auditorium was packed to the brim. The excitement got to its pick especially when contestants hit the stage to showcase, starting off with the casual wear to official wear and cultural wear.

Zambian, Milton Mwila, 25, a second year civil engineering student clinched Mr. IUEA as Uganda's Alice Namutebi, 21, a first year student of Human Resource Management was crowned Miss IUEA in what happened to be the most spirited beauty contest of International University of East Africa (IUEA).

The two stood out as favourites for the 2016/17 university's faces from a pool of 30 contestants, both male and female, at a fanfare event that took place at the school's campus in Kasanga on Friday Night. Through various activities, all contestants were tasked to impress and prove they are worth being faces of the institute. Fashion, as it is the norm for such contests, was at the fore-front.

The Kasanga auditorium was packed to the brim. The excitement got to its pick especially when contestants hit the stage to showcase, starting off with the casual wear to official wear and cultural wear. The exhilarated audience would cheer them up as they showcased all kinds of attires.

Renowned singer, Bobi Wine, now law student at the institute, chipped in to thrill fellow students with a musical interlude. Then was the talent session as part of the contest items which required each contestant to use their talents to impress the judges. As majority danced, others sung, played musical instruments along other talents.

Creativity wear came along with the interesting question session which intended to check each contestant's intellect, and yes, some were true to themselves as others blundered. To celebrate the University's 5th anniversary, attendees were served to huge cake before judges announced the various winners. Other crowns were Mr and Miss Popularity, congeniality, and talent. It was a full night treat enjoyed by folks from various universities, including several beauty queens.
