Renewed call for seed secondary schools

Museveni pledged to set up a secondary school in every sub-county.

AMURIA - Members of Parliament have been called on to follow up on government's commitment of establishing a seed secondary school in each sub-county in the country.

President Yoweri Museveni in his 2011 manifesto pledged to set up a secondary school in every sub-county.

But that is yet the case, according to media reports.

Paul Esogu, the LC5 councilor for Apeduru sub-county in Amuria district, said his area is among those without a seed secondary school.

Esogu urged MPs to pursue this issue up to its logical conclusion so that this pledge is fulfilled countrywide.

"Once government fulfills its pledge of having secondary schools in every sub county, this will reduce the distance of children traveling to far schools," he said.
