FUFA to table budget before assembly

The national teams will take the biggest budget of sh5.3bn to train competent staff and compete in matches followed by administration (sh2.1bn) and infrastructure (sh1.4bn).

As FUFA president Moses Magogo prepares for his third annual general assembly since taking up the mantle at Mengo, the federation plans to announce a sh14.2bn shillings budget estimate for their financial year 2017.

According to the federation's financial report that will be presented to the assembly on Saturday, the budget will cover arears of governance, technical development, infrastructure, the national teams, other competitions, Marketing and communication, administration and membership.

The national teams will take the biggest budget of sh5.3bn to train competent staff and compete in matches followed by administration (sh2.1bn) and infrastructure (sh1.4bn).

FUFA expects to raise the funds for the budget internally from FIFA and CAF grants, international matches, government support, local income, sales of machandise, membership subscription, sponsorship, media and television rights and CECAFA prize money.

Apart from the budget estimates, the AGM will also discuss a six-year strategic plan for the federation, admission of FUTSAL as a new affiliate of FUFA, the 2015 audited report, some amendments and activity reports.

FUFA has also invited National Council of Sports (NCS) for the AGM as they discuss their recent compliance with rules of statutes of the supreme sports' governing body but the minister for Luweero Triangle Denis Galabuzi will preside over the AGM.

Meanwhile, the federation recruited former Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) board member Humphrey Mandu to deputise the chief executive officer Edgar Watson.

Watson said that Mandu was tasked with issues of recruitment and effective service deliveries at the FUFA secretariat.

They have also recruited Bashir Mutyaba to manage Youth Football under the FUFA technical director Asuman Lubowa in Uganda.
