KCCA fan banned for a year

The game that ended in one all draw saw a KCCA fan identified as Middu Katanguli physically assault the centre referee William Oloya, leading to chaos.

Uganda Premier League (UPL) has come out with a verdict between the Kirinya Jinja versus KCCA league game that ended in chaos on Tuesday October 11th at Bugembe Stadium-Jinja.

The game that ended in one all draw saw a KCCA fan identified as Middu Katanguli physically assault the centre referee William Oloya, leading to chaos.

Kirinya Jinja SSS FC fans invaded the field and pounced on the said KCCA FC fan and beat him up seriously which prompted the police to use tear gas to disperse the fans from the stadium and save the match officials.

According to the the match officials' report, match agent's report and a video of the incidents, UPL has decided to make the following decisions;

"Katanguli Middu has been declared persona non grata at AUPL matches for three hundred sixty five (365) days from the date of this communication as per Article 34(6) of FUFA Competitions Rules," a statement said.

"Kirinya Jinja S.S.S FC has been fined sh300,000 for violent conduct of their fans. The fine is to be paid to the UPL Secretariat by Friday October 28th as per Article 33(2)(b) of FUFA Competitions Rules"
