KCCA has spoken out on the crowd trouble that marred their 1-1 draw with Kirinya-Jinja in the Uganda Premier League played at Bugembe Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Police had to teargas after the final whistle following violence between fans of both clubs.

"The chaotic incidents happened after the final whistle when the match had concluded and one individual confronted the referee. We are yet to establish if this individual is our fan and once we prove this we shall take appropriate action" a statement issued by the reigning league champions read in part.

"Home fans invaded the pitch and assaulted our players, officials and fans. The club restrained and protected its players, officials and fans to ensure safety prevailed. The Police intervened and it indeed restored order" the club statement added.
