UVF's Nasiwu reappointed

Oct 11, 2016

Nasiwu said that the position will help him continue to get a one-on-one audience with the FIVB president

Outgoing Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) president Sadik Nasiwu has said that he will remain in volleyball even after his term expires in December, 2016.

Nasiwu accompanied by his first vice president Godwin Ssenyondo was reappointed on the FIVB Audit commission at the federation's annual Congress.

"For the next (UVF) president, I can't really advice but I want him or her to realise that I'm still in volleyball and I can still add value to volleyball locally and internationally. FIVB has already appreciated that with my reappointment," Nasiwu said.

Nasiwu said that the position will help him continue to get a one-on-one audience with the FIVB president so as to allow Uganda to continue benefitting from the global volleyball governing body.

Nasiwu's treasurer Joseph Odong and second Vice president Hadijjah Nammanda are reportedly interested in taking up the mantle although they have not declared their respective interests to the fraternity.

During Nasiwu's eight year reign, UVF has sunk $30000 (sh102m) into development projects for teachers, coaches, players and managers.

Meanwhile, UVF called off all their league fixtures over the weekend and released fresh fixtures for Serie B and Serie C men's competitions.
