Business paralyzed in Malaba over Kenya attack

Most travelers were stranded on both sides of the border as no one was allowed to cross the border point.

Business was paralyzed for more than two hours at the Malaba border after angry residents on the Kenyan side blocked the north corridor over insecurity.

The angry residents were reacting to an attack on five guards who were hacked by unknown assailants leaving them with severe injuries on Sunday night.

Most travelers were stranded on both sides of the border as no one was allowed to cross the border point.

Meanwhile, security personel on the Uganda side remain alert  as they were seen patrolling.

The guards have been admitted at Bungoma and Busia County Referral Hospitals following the attack whose motive is not yet known.
