Eight outstanding teachers awarded

The eight winners of New Vision’s Teachers Making a Difference competition were on Thursday recognised at a ceremony presided over by the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Mrs. Janet Museveni. The eight outstanding teachers drawn from various parts of the country were recognised for their innovations in delivering Universal Primary Education(UPE) The eight teachers are Suzan Wamala Sserunkuuma (the headteacher of Mukono Boarding Primary), Anna Twongeirwe (Nyakabale Lower Primary School in Rukungiri district), Eric Masereka (Railways Primary School in Kasese district), and Deborah Alibu (Namalu Primary School in Nakapiripirit district). They also include Musa Kisibo (Morukatipe Primary School in Tororo district), Daniel Waninda (Nagongera Girls’ Boarding School in Tororo district), Mohamed Basan Khan (Butuma Muslim Primary School in Bugiri) and Wilson Bukayi (Kamuli Girls Primary School in Kamuli district). The ceremony was also attended by the Irish Ambassador to Uganda, Donal Cronin.
