Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) members have been urged to read their constitution so that they participate in the elections set for next month well.

USPA president Sabiiti Muwanga made the appeal during their monthly assembly held at Lugogo Tennis Club where athlete David Emong beat Uganda Cranes to win the Nile Special USPA Sports Personality for the Month of September.

"We are going into elections next month and those members interested in taking up the office should read the constitution and canvas for votes well" Muwanga stated.

The elections will be held on the second week of next month at a venue yet to be named.

Paralympics silver medallist David Emong beat Uganda Cranes 400-370 to win the September gong.

Emong is the only athlete and first athlete to win a medal for Uganda in the Paralympics while the Uganda Cranes beat Comoros 1-0 to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations next year in Gabon.

Others commended included the Rugby 7s for winning the Rugby Africa Cup after beating Namibia 39-19 in the final.
