Leaders ought to desist from acts which intend to derail the youth from benefiting from government

Politicians in Soroti district have been warned against masquerading propaganda in government programs which target the youth.

This follows claims which pin some of the politicians in Teso sub region for giving misleading information to youth about the youth livelihood program.

Bob Owiny, the deputy speaker Soroti district said that some politicians in the district go around telling the youth that the youth livelihood program is campaign money and that they ought to spend without refunding.

Owiny who doubles as the councillor representing the youth in the district council commended that leaders ought to desist from acts which intend to derail the youth from benefiting from government.

He complained that some of the youth have also connived with community development officers in registering for acquisition of funds.

"Some of the youth have curtailed others from benefiting because they end up benefiting twice or more, the youth should desist from such" Owiny said.

He urged the youth to shun the misleading propaganda if they must benefit since the fund is the revolving government fund.
