UPC congratulates Uganda's Silver Medal winner

Uganda People's Congress has congratulated David Emong, who won a Silver Medal in recent concluded Para-Olympics in the 1,500m finals in Rio De Janiero.

Emong came second with a time of 4:00:62 while Algeria's Nouioua Samir came first with 3:59:46. Samir is a seven time Paralympics medalist. Australia's Roeger Michael came third winning Bronze.

The party national chairman Lawrence Engirot Okae said it is the country's first ever medal of any sort in the history of the games since 1972 when the East African country debuted.

While addressing press conference at Uganda House on Wednesday morning, Okae also congratulated Uganda Rugby Cranes team which managed to win the Rugby Sevens

Tournament after a heated final competition in Nairobi Kenya. The team managed to beat Namibia.

Uganda was rated way behind Zimbabwe, Kenya and Namibia, disregarding what history or resources suggested, Rugby beat all three to win the tournament.
