The youth of Dokolo parish, Gweri Sub County in Soroti district warned against plundering projects which the youth embark on to benefit from government projects.

This follows reports from the leadership of Dokolo parish in which the youth are being accused of spearheading theft of youth livelihood projects in the area.

Robert Amenu, the LC1 chairperson of Onyamai Village of Gweri Sub County said some youth have indulged themselves in theft on count of disorganizing the beneficiary groups.

He blamed the illegal activities of the youth on the increased rate of drug abuse.

Amenu said among the items being stolen include orange seedlings and animals among others items and he added that the theft will continue to rise if the youth continue abusing drugs.

He added that over 400 orange seedlings which belonged to a specific group were stolen last week followed by the theft of about three bulls in his village.

He however urged the sub county authorities and the security agencies to forge ways of establishing a solution to curb theft in the area.
