With Uganda looking to impress in next year's senior men's fast pitch softball championships, early preparations will be focal in galvanizing the Ugandan side and certainly they understand this.

After qualifying on a wild card, the national softball and baseball governing body (UBASA) has responded by drawing up a program ahead of the meet.

One item on that is to have various games involving veterans from across the country and certainly they would be able to select players for the team.

Two veteran teams SPENSA and Kyambogo have already been lined up on the program. The old hand players are sought for because of experience to support the relatively younger blood.

"We are looking at bringing the veterans on board because given their experience; they will help the younger lot. Experience is key in competitions of such dimension" said George Mukhobe, Publicity secretary- UBASA.

Meanwhile Japanese national Men's coach Nagatani Kazuhiro conducted a coaching clinic for twelve Ugandans at Kyambogo on Sunday where he equipped them with new skills and rules of the game

It should be underscored that the Women's national team participated in this year's Women World Softball Championships, Canada  where they finished 24 out of 30 teams in July this year.
