Anyau sounded the call after his side edged Express FC 1-0 in an Azam Uganda Premier League

BUL FC coach Frank Anyau believes Ugandan football coaches should groom more goal scorers to bridge the gap that Ugandan football is currently facing.

Anyau sounded the call after his side edged Express FC 1-0 in an Azam Uganda Premier League match that had so many created opportunities for goals, but were put to waste by both sides.

"The problem in Uganda is; our strikers are goal shy; they create so many chances that they don't convert. It is a widespread problem even with our national teams; the Cranes and all under age teams. "It seems in Uganda we only produce goalkeepers, defenders and midfielders so as coaches we have to work hard to groom strikers, it is the burden that we all faced with," Anyau stated.

Despite the big victory he got against Express, Anyau wants his team to work even harder in the remaining games of the league.

"This win means nothing so far but we worked hard for the victory because the league is tight and competitive, as you can see the difference between the leader and the bottom placed team at the moment is not big, so we shall continue to fight for the three points in every match in order to survive," Anyau noted.

BUL will host KCCA FC next on Saturday at Kakindu stadium in Jinja.
