Quadrangular series

Teams: Kenya, Uganda, Qatar & Saudi Arabia

Host: Kenya

Dates: September 20 - 30

Davis Karashani's second spell as Uganda captain starts tomorrow as a highly-motivated 17-man squad begin the nation's long build-up towards next year's ICC World Cricket League Division 3.

Karashani and Charles Waiswa are two of the highest profile personnel on Steve Tikolo's side that will take on Kenya, Qatar and Saudi Arabia in a quadrangular series due in Kenya over the next 10 days.

The other headliner on the team is of course, Tikolo, who is making his debut as head coach of the Cricket Cranes, having been the assistant during Martin Sugi's reign.

Karashani captained Uganda for four years before retiring from international cricket, alongside Charles Waiswa, in 2015.

The returning duo have created a feel-good factor within Tikolo's team, which adds to the vibe that had been fostered by the appointment of the highly respected Kenya legend in the first place.

Karashani's reappointment means Brian Masaba has been moved lower to assistant captain, dislodging Frank Nsubuga from the post. Tikolo's main charge is to improve the batting standard of the Cranes, who have always excelled in fielding and bowling.
