Uganda YCS Movement gets new leaders

Uganda Young Christian Students (YCS), a Catholic movement that nurtures exemplary leaders for the Church and the country has elected a new team of leaders.

The new YCS national council is led by Moses Ojok, a student at Makerere University. Others on the council include Charles Mutabaazi (treasurer, from MUBS), Priscilla Birungi (treasurer, from MUBS) and Proscovia Alokot (publicity, Kampala University).

They were elected during the movement's 34th national council meeting, which took place at the Uganda Spiritual Formation Centre, Namugongo. They were subsequently inaugurated on Saturday.

The function started with a thanksgiving mass, which was presided over by Fr. Leonard Olobo of the Missionary Society of the Holy Cross.

 

Dr. Pius Okong, who was the chief guest, encouraged members of the movement to have a personal encounter with Jesus, who he said would help them to attain their aspirations.

The function was also attended by delegates from Rwanda. During the same function, members of the movement also celebrated 60 years of the arrival of YCS in Uganda.
