15.09.2009: Museveni blames opposition for violence

President Yoweri Museveni blamed the opposition for the violent riots which rocked Kampala city and some Buganda towns in early September. This he said while addressing a special sitting of parliament, he said the opposition was trying to use Mengo, the seat of the Buganda Kingdom to attain what he called selfish interest.  The riots broke out when government refused to allow the Kabaka to visit Kayunga citing security reasons.
