Nile region defeated West Nile 7-6 in penalties to win the 13th edition of the City Tyres Chenge Challenge title at Boma ground in Moroto town over the weekend.

The two day final that attracted eleven teams from different regions such as Western, North East, North, Elgon,Rwenzori,Nile,Central,East Buganda, Southern, South Buganda and West Nile, had over 200 participants .

Despite winning their regional championship, Nile region will have to thank their goalkeeper Kennth Mukwanya after he saved penalties after normal in the quarterfinal, semis final and final to help his region clinch the title.

Since its inauguration in 1998, the City Tyres Chenga Challenge has been the breeding ground for the national players like Denis Onyango,Farouk Miya and Mike Mutyaba.
