City Tyres U-14 Chenga Challenge Championship

The knockout rounds will wrap up the second day of the City Tyres U-14 Chenga Challenge finals at the Boma ground, Moroto.

The two- day finals ending Saturday, attracted eleven teams from regions‑  Kampala, Mukono, Kabale, Mbale, Iganga, Arua, Lira, Fort Portal, Moroto, Mbarara and Masaka.

City Tyres and Friends of Football (FOF) decided to have the finals in Moroto in a bid to tap talent in the Karamoja area.

The event is held in the region for the first time.

The championship that had qualifying stages at regional level attracted over 4700 participants.

After the finals, team of 20 players will be selected for friendly games in Kisumu and Mumias in Kenya.

Central region are defending champions of the event last held in 2014.

Scholastic materials, sets of jerseys, trophies and other prizes will be given to various winners after the finals.

Since its inauguration in 1998, the Championship has produced players like Denis Onyango, Farouk Miya and Mike Mutyaba.
