The UPC spokesperson Michael Osinde Orach congratulated Uganda Cranes for the victory

The Uganda People's Congress has congratulated the national team, Uganda Cranes for the victory registered at Namboole on Sunday.  The party has appealed to the Government to invest more funds in sports sector. The remarks come after the Uganda Cranes victory on Sunday over Comoros at Namboole Stadium.

The UPC spokesperson Michael Osinde Orach congratulated Uganda Cranes for the victory. He also said that the success of Uganda Cranes must be viewed with sobering context. "A lot has happened since 1978 in the life of the nation but little has been put in sports infrastructure," said Orach.

Speaking to journalists at party offices in Kampala on Wednesday afternoon, Orach appealed to the Federation of Uganda Football Association to talk to fans that had tickets for the match, but were not allowed to watch the match due to overcrowding of the stadium.

He also asked the private sector to play its part in development of sports and talents in the country. "Ghana and Nigeria have led the way of developing sports through participation of private sector and more proactive state intervention," noted Orach.
