Senior 2 student commits suicide

A senior two student of St Stephens Akisim senior secondary school in Ngora district has committed suicide.

The officer in-charge Kapir Police Post Peter Wanok identified the deceased as Anna Christine Musiruka aged 20. She committed suicide by hanging in Obosai village, Kokong in Kapir Sub County.

Wanok said Musiruka was seen knotting ropes out of a blue mosquito net.

The LC3 chairman LC3 of Kapir Sub County Bonny Ochen told New Vision that the deceased reportedly told her siblings that she was going to take her own life.

"That area of Obosai is known for demons attacking people and after seven suicide attempts, prayers have been conducted in the same village to banish demons but all in vain" said.

Musiraka's remains were taken to Kachumbala where her family migrated from for burial.
