He was assisted by the parish-priest of Namugongo Catholic Martyrs’ Shrine, Fr. Vincent Lubega. Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala also graced the function.

Msgr. Kasibante praised the Missionaries of Charity for continuing the good work of Saint Mother Theresa, before asking Catholics and all Ugandans of good will to promote the values that Mother Theresa stood for.

“We Ugandans should consider ourselves blessed because Mother Theresa came to our country in 1988, when she had come to establish her congregation here. She stayed in Gogonya, where she interacted and shared a meal with the sisters there.”

“Mother Theresa touched the lives of many people through her humility and simplicity. She was filled with the love of God. Her life and examples challenge us to love our brothers and sisters.”
