A shield unlike before is set to be added on the awards list

Teams: Jinja SS, Teso College Aloet, Masaka SS, Ntare School, Nyakasura, Kololo SS, Rainbow international, Kings College Budo. St James SS, Ndejje SS, Mukono Parents and Mwiri

This year's edition of the Pepsi Boys Cricket Week tournament that runs from 3-9 September will be riddled with firsts.

A shield unlike before is set to be added on the awards list in a bid to make the competition more memorable as the winning team will have its name in etched on it as well as the past winners.

"The move will add prestige to the tournament as the shield will be a symbol of greatness" said Grace Mutyagaba the Uganda Cricket Association national development coordinator.

Teso College Aloet and Rainbow International will make their first appearance at the event which Busoga College Mwiri will look to defend, having beaten Kololo SS by 30 runs in last year's final. 

A total of twelve schools from five regions will feature in the Pepsi sponsored contest after the qualifiers ended over the weekend.
