Three arrested in Omoro over election malpractice

The suspects have been identified as Paul Obwona, Francis Obur and Hilda Acan

Three people have been arrested after they tried to vote in Omoro district yet they were not registered. 

The Aswa River Region Police spokesperson said the suspects, who have been identified as Paul Obwona, Francis Obur and Hilda Acan had applications of transfer from Gulu to Omoro but their names were on the voter register.   

He said they were taken to Koro Police Station in Omoro district and investigations are ongoing.

Voting for the Woman MP and LC5 chairperson seat started this morning in Omoro district midst reports of low voter turnout.

The race for the Omoro Woman MP race attracted 10 candidates while the LC5 chairman race attracted five candidates.
