Arrested for trying to vote yet missing on register

OMORO - Three people have been arrested after they tried to vote in Omoro district yet they were not registered.

The Aswa River Region police spokes said the suspects Paul Obwona, Francis Obur and Hilda Acan had application of transfer from Gulu to Omoro but their names were not on the voters register.

They were taken to Koro Police Station in Omoro district and an investigation is going on.

Voting for the Woman MP and LC5 chairperson seat started early Monday in Omoro amid reports of low voter turnout.

 The race for the Woman MP seat attracted 10 candidates and the LC5 chairman had five contenders.
