Over 800 turn up for free disability, rehabilitation diagnostic camp

The turn up was overwhelming and Dr. Beyeza had to devise ways of encouraging the persons with disability to report on another day especially those with no legs /amputees.

Persons with disability (PWD) mostly children showed gloomy faces while being attended to by a senior orthopaedic doctor from Indian doctor Dr. Mathur O.D  and Dr. Tito Beyeza of Mulago referral hospital not knowing whether they would undergo surgery or get a wheelchair.

But moments later they were overjoyed after getting wheelchairs during the free disability and rehabilitation diagnostic camp at Mulago hospital.

The turn up was overwhelming and Dr. Beyeza had to devise ways of encouraging the persons with disability to report on another day especially those with no legs /amputees.

The turn up was over 800 people.

"All amputees should be separated and find another place for them or come another day," Dr. Beyeza said.

 
He said 90% of the PWDs who turned up are amputees.

The three-day camp was sponsored by Narayan Seva santhan and other sponsors.

If you are not courageous enough tears would roll down your chicks as parents struggled to carry their paralyzed children.
