Kireka Chess Club kept up the pressure on defending champions D'Mark as the National Chess League neared a climax.
FM Harold Wanyama's side moved close to claiming league lead following results over weekend where they beating Mulago Overs 5-0 and Mulago Knights 4.5-0.5 at Hotel Africana.
The performance puts them in second position on 19 points, one behind table leaders D'Mark with just three left each.
"There is no time to rest this season because this is Kireka's year and we have to take that title," Wanyama said.
But for Wanyama's dreams to come true, Kireka will need to win all their remaining games against Mulago Kings (in third position), winless side Makerere University (14th) and table leaders D'Mark.
D'Mark also secured double victory after beating Comrades 3.5-1.5 before thumping Mulago Overs 5-0 later to maintain top position.
The other team that has kept a close chase is Mulago Kings with 18pts in third place. They also beat Mulago Knights and Makerere University 5-0 and 4.5-0.5 respectively.
