Ssebaggala calls for service delivery above politics

Politics is all about serving people. We are elected to parliament by people of various political and religious affiliations. In order to serve them effectively, we must work together.”

Mixing politics with development is arguably the basic reason why many politicians have failed to serve their people.
Some politician can opt to frustrate a good programme, which evidently would benefit the people, just because they don't share the same political affiliation with the politician that has brought it.
This is a wrong political culture that must not be encouraged because it stifles development. Politicians must learn the culture of working together, irrespective of their different affiliations, for the good of their people.
The victory party of Hon. Latif Ssebaggala (MP for Kawempe North) at St. Peter's Church of Uganda, Kisaasi on Saturday, made a clear statement about the dire necessity for politicians to prevail over their political bickering for the good of their people.
Although he is known to be an influential member of DP and TJ (Truth and Justice Forum) activist, Ssebaggala's party was graced by politicians of different political parties and pressure groups.
Those in attendance included Hon. Judith Babirye (NRM), Hon. Cissy Namuju (Lwengo, NRM), Sarah Najjuma (Nakaseke, NRM), Jane Nabulindo (Busia District), Lydia Mirembe (Butambala, FDC) and Sarah Nakawunde Tamulanda (Mpigi, NRM).
Others were Patrick Nsamba (Kassanda North), Juliet Suubi Kinyamatama (Rakai District), Hood Katuramu Kiribedda (Disabled, western) and Robert centenary (Kasese Municipality).
Hon. Cissy Namuju said: "Our brother Ssebaggala loves all of us, irrespective of our religious or political affiliations. He guided us well and also taught us the parliamentary tenets, culture and modus operandi, when he came to Parliament."
Hon. Sarah Najjuma said: "Latif is indeed a good man. He is dependable, trustworthy and calm. He has Uganda and Buganda at heart. He is also a good Imam."
Ssebaggala later said: "Politics is all about serving people. We are elected to parliament by people of various political and religious affiliations. In order to serve them effectively, we must work together."
Ssebaggaala later commissioned an ambulance, which he had bought for the constituents.
