Toro Boarding Primary School put up a stellar performance to win the fourth last outing of the City Tyres U14 Chenga Challenge Championship in Fort Portal region over the weekend.

They defeated Kasese Infant 4-2 in penalties after a goalless draw in normal time.

The weekend event was the eighth consecutive regional championship. Earlier Kampala, Mukono, Kabale, Mbale, Iganga, Arua and Lira had conducted their regional championships.

Karamoja region will host this year's finals in Moroto town on September 9-10. The national U14 football championship is organized by Friends of Football (FOF).

At the end of the Fort Portal event, the best 24 players were selected before reducing them to 20 players to prepare to represent Fort Portal region in finals in Moroto.

Central region are the defending champions of the event that was last held in 2014.

Since its inception in 1998, the Chenga Challenge has discovered players who have gone on to represent the national team like Denis Onyango, Farouk Miya and Mike Mutyaba.
