Besigye is due to give key addresses in several western capitals including London

The High Court has allowed former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye to travel out of the country.

The former FDC party president, who is facing treason charges, intends to travel abroad.

It is reported that Besigye will give key addresses in western capitals including London, where he will address a convention organized by Ugandans slated for September 10th.

The court order follows the varying of his bail conditions requiring Besigye to seek permission to travel abroad from the court, as per the earlier arrangement.

Besigye was supposed to report on August 22nd and September 15th as per the bail conditions set by Justice Wilson Masalu-Musene, the head of the criminal division of High Court.

Besigye was supposed to report to the registrar of the court once every two weeks.

Justice Yasin Nyanzi allowed Besigye's application, but reminded him that his other bail conditions remain standing during the grace period.
