Man attacked by father-in-law over unpaid dowry stabbed by wife

According to witnesses, he was rushed to hospital while some intestines hanging out

Just days after he was attacked and seriously injured by his father in-law, Moses Odoch, 24, has been hospitalised at St. Pope John's Hospital Aber in Oyam district after he was stabbed by his wife.

Odoch who is battling for his life was stabbed four times in the stomach by his 18-year-old wife Paska Adongo. According to witnesses, he was rushed to hospital while some intestines hanging out.

Adongo was arrested by Police in Kiryandongo and was still in detention by press time.

A police officer who preferred anonymity told New Vision that the incident happened at Ayuda Cell in Karuma town board, Mutunda sub-county, Kiryandongo district.

Efforts to get comment from the District Police Commander were futile but an officer in Kiryandongo said Adongo will be charged with attempted murder.

He condemned the act and appealed to couples to always find peaceful means of solving family issue instead of resorting to violence.

Odoch was first attacked by his father in-law over Nixon Okullu sh500,000 in dowry with the recorded at Karuma Police Post  under the case file SD 14/21/6/2016 against Okullu and his wife Joyce Apio.

The Karuma town board LC1 defence secretary Ali Rejigala criticize the act and advised parents not to engage themselves in marriage issues.
