Gujarat makes light work of Yuva to reach semifinal

The Gujarat Lions can start dreaming of the night cricket title or even the sh10m prize money after they brushed aside Yuva to reach the semi finals.

There has been a switch in the playing format from 16 overs in the group stages to 20 overs from the quarterfinals onwards.

Emmanuel Isaneez and Suleiman Sharif carried Gujarat Lions with the ball through Monday night's encounter with scores of 3/15 in 5 overs and 3/30 in 4.4 overs respectively at the Lugogo Oval.

"We have gathered enough confidence after eliminating Yuva. Our sights are now in the semi finals as we aim for the title" said Isaneez who also plays for Patidar in the T20 Cup as well as the national men's league.

Hiral Patel was also central in the win posted a tidy 36 runs as his side managed to successfully chase a not so steep 91 run target set by Arjun Keshwala's Yuva.

In Yuva's innings, Keshwala scored 31 runs but watched on helplessly as his side failed to make the semis.
