Man commits suicide over wife's affair with his brother

The body of the deceased was discovered by Police in collaboration with local council officials who managed to break into his shop

Horror gripped residents of Busiro landing site, Banda sub county Namayingo district after a 45 year old prominent businessman committed suicide by taking poison.

The body of the deceased, David Ouma, proprietor of Frankia General Enterprises at Busiro landing site was discovered on Sunday by Police in collaboration with local council officials who managed to break into his shop at around 12.30pm.

Locals suspected there could be something wrong after the deceased had not opened his shop by midday and alerted police and local council officials who managed to break into it and found him dead with two packets of rat poison beside him.

According to the LC1 chairman, Busiro landing site, Karim Otoyo said the deceased had two days earlier accused his brother, Peter Osende of having a love affair with his wife, Janet Auma.

Auma recently moved out of the house she shared with Ouma and rented a house a few meters away after the two developed a quarrel.

Otoyo said the deceased had three days back filed a complaint with the office of the LC1 chairman seeking for a solution after allegedly discovering that his young brother had developed a love affair with his wife.

The officer in charge Busiro Police Station, Sergeant Raacho Akole said the body of the deceased had been taken to Buyinja health centre 4 for a post-mortem report.
